Kefa Academy - Athletes Needing SponsorshipAcademy Athletes are some of the most vulnerable athletes in the Kefa Project. They live at Kefa Academy where they are cared for by staff and have food, shelter, training, medical, clothing, and education provided. Jean Baptiste is very intelligent. He's always quick to practice the English he learns with visitors. He is the first to jump in and try anything new whether its origami, salsa dancing, or a new english song.
Rachid loves inventing weird dance moves and doing impersonations of the staff. He's one of the first ones to invent crazy games and to drag his friends into joining. He is a catalyst of fun.
Amos is the glue that held our youngest boys together before the academy. Anyone that meets him is .drawn to his energy and personality. He has a mixture of youthful exuberance and a maturity that speaks to what he has overcome.
Jeremy is super high energy and funny. At first he seems shy, but that goes away quickly. He loves performing big antics and making funny faces.
Jaques likes to sit back and observe at first. He has really grown at the academy. He is one of the first to forgive when someone wrongs him.
David seems very serious at first, but once he gets to know you, you get to see that beautiful smile. He's one of our most talented dancers in the academy and has one of the softest spirits.
Nana is a soft spoken boy. He is a quiet leader, one who does not stand out, but has a huge impact on the other boys. He has a huge smile, is a dedicated student, a dedicated athlete, and an all around positive influence on everyone at the academy.
Dieudonne is our resident story teller. He really hams up his stories to the delight of everyone in the academy. He is also one of our most talented athletes.
Etienne is a goal keeper on the field and off the field can often be found creating many types of creative competitions for himself and his teammates. After winning, or losing, he will declare 'I AM THE CHAMPION.'
Emile was a leader and protector on the streets. It has been so fun to see him get to become a kid again at the academy and to joke and laugh. He loves school and does quite well at it.
